In her Ministerial Address, Hon Judith Collins, Attorney-General, Minister of Defence, and Minister for Digitisation, reaffirmed New Zealand’s commitment to building a modern, connected, and citizen-first public sector.
Minister Collins acknowledged that as the pace of change accelerates, New Zealand faces a complex landscape of public challenges, constraints, and environmental pressures. In response, government agencies are embracing digital innovation and engaging with AI to improve service delivery and resilience.
She emphasised that a strong AI partnership is key to aligning innovation with national priorities such as economic growth, enhanced service quality, and the ethical use of emerging technologies. Minister Collins also highlighted the government’s agreement to advance its digital pathway, setting clear direction and sustained effort to strengthen data security, accessibility, and efficiency across the public sector.
