More than a journey map - How service design can help your organization
The 2020 Pandemic
When COVID-19 hit Canada, the entire British Columbia public service (aside from essential workers) had to stay home while also continuing to do their jobs.
Since then we've all learned a lot about how to collaborate remotely and hybridly.
But, how do you develop and implement an effective experience for a large, diverse organization?
The answer is . . . service design.
While Spatial did create personas and journey maps outlining the employee experience across many levels and domains of BC Gov, our service design outputs provided much more than that.
Personas and journey maps were just the beginning - the artefacts through which we engaged with each other.
Spatial used these initial outputs to work with a wide variety of public service staff to understand their wants and needs and create principles to guide the workplace of the future.
So, if you're wondering, what can service design do for me?
Think of it this way . . . service design provides the base layer for people to build systems together. And once you have that in place, tech implementation becomes a whole lot smoother!
